The Port

The Port of Virginia’s central location on the East Coast makes it the best choice for companies needing to service markets to the North, South, and Midwest. Destinations such as Chicago, Columbus, Buffalo, Detroit, Memphis, Louisville, Charlotte, and Savannah, just to name a few, are all accessible within 1-2 days or less by truck. And with 50 (and soon to be 55) foot obstruction free channels and only 18 miles to the open sea, it is likely that your preferred ocean carrier makes call at the Port of Virginia. Vessels representing over ninety-five percent of the world’s leading shipping lines make The Port of Virginia a preferred port of call. During the 40 + years that NWDC has been in business, we have developed a close working partnership with the marketing and operating units of the port. We capitalize on this important relationship to provide more communication and efficient services to our customers.
